I ran across something great today, and all Americans should check it out, especially if you've ever been dissatisfied with the lack of communication that comes from a presidential administration. It's called http://change.gov, and if it's any indication of what kind of Obama administration is to come, I think I'm in love.
Since so many people have asked, I figured I'd put the story of how I went about proposing to Tianna on Monday. I'm proud to say that she was completely surprised, and we were both really happy.
Since news travels fast, I'll try to get this out there before anyone feels like they've been left out.
I'm marrying Tianna, and I couldn't be happier.
W00t!
Well, my time at UBS is ending soon. UBS, taking into account the current economic situation in the world, has decided to bow out of the commodities business. The Houston IT offices are largely (like, 99%) devoted to that, and they've decided to close them. This means that I will soon have no job.
Hurricane Ike hit Galveston, Houston and several surrounding areas last night and this morning. Myself and Tianna are both fine, as are all the cats (frankly, I don't think they realized anything happened at all). We're just looking around and checking out the damage, and so far it seems pretty extensive.
Welcome to Christopher Shawn McKee! He was born last night and weighs 7 pounds and 8.5 ounces. Mom and baby are both well. I'm heading over to Texas Women's later to check on everyone :)
Recently, I think I may have posted about wanting to try my hand at some electronics projects. After doing some research, I believe I may be farther along toward my goal than I originally thought, but there are still vast holes in my understanding of some concepts.
I've been doing some pretty slick stuff with the iPhone lately, though none of it is of my own creation (yet). I have a few good ideas though, and I've started thinking about a project or two.
I had an interesting experience this weekend working on Tianna's Jeep. From broken switches to fuses to an alternator that craved a slow, painful death, I leaned a ton.
It's that time again. Time to fire up a browser and wear out the refresh button. Time to watch stock in companies that make black turtlenecks. Time to monitor obscure signals coming from the Moscone Center in San Fransisco to see just what's brewing in those off-limits areas before the magic starts. It's time for an Apple WWDC keynote.
